If you want annoying working girls pestering you on a nightly basis in the lounges and common areas for massages-plus and following you around the hotel stalking you then this is your place. Other than a few hiccups the service was fine. Restaurant menu needs more variety.
BBQ seems to be the specialty. The BBQ buffet on Thursday nights is excellent. Other than the BBQ, the food in general is quite fine, but not the best. Yes, barbecue is one of our specialities especially due to the frehsness of our sea products better to have it grill instead of with sauce hiding the fresh taste.
Meanwhile, our comments are appreciated and I wil ask our Security Team to be more stronger against it. During my two trips to Cameroon, I spent most of my nights in small "hotels" outside of Douala that were nothing short of miserable.
When it came time to fly home, I would always spend one night at the Le Meridien before departing, and I very much looked forward to that stay. As others have mentioned, the hotel is not necessarily up to Le Meridien or other western hotel standards per se; however, when traveling internationally you quickly realize that a hotel is best judged by its relative environment not global standards, especially in developing countries.
Considering other options in Douala, I found the Le Meridien to be more than acceptable, the rooms were adequate, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We will continue to improve to be able to always give you the best quality possible.
